The customer had a desire to optimise the welding hours on their design, which is used in agriculture. Therefore, they turned to Hosta Industries, asking what we might recommend to optimise production of the workpiece.
Our expertise, our customer’s savings
Hosta Industries reviewed the design with the customer’s technician to clarify its characteristics and requirement specifications. Based on our experience and knowledge in manufacturing technologies, we came up with proposals on how, using laser tube cutting and laser sheet metal cutting, pin/hole joints could be used instead. Moreover, CNC machining of bushings could be changed so they could be more easily fixed, and cutouts could be made for threaded inserts.
With these optimisation solutions, the customer achieved tacking in welding without the use of measuring tools. Only individual control measurements were to be taken, and the weld time was reduced by 46% relative to before.
